I know i am a little late to this, but I saw "Chak De! India" last night and was struck by how many important messages the movie addressed.
The most obvious was the state tension and the idea that we will never succeed if not as one country. The second was the cricket vs. other sports, and the third was the underlying suspicion in India's large Hindu population towards its Muslim brothers and sisters.

All in all, I was very impressed with the movie. I heard that it was a "good" movie -but I didn't hear much about its social messages - Do you think they were lost?
