I'm torn on this too. The iPhone is way cooler but it's a pretty big phone. Do you have a Mac?

ask people who have these phones for a quick overview. Play with them at the store. I would go for the blackberry. I always think that something happens to the iphones touch feature .....you have no phone. and you have a long process to get it repaired.

Well, I am one of those cool people that has an iPhone. I LOVE IT.

I disagree with those haters, Kaamna. The user interface on the iPhone is very intuitive, just like most Mac products.

The only problem I have had with the iPhone is that I try to put TOO much stuff on it (because it is a flash drive.) I fill up my music, photo album, calender, Text message convo savers, notes, etc. etc. etc. (cause there ain't nothin this phone don't do besides my laundry) and then it won't support the applications. When this happens, I have to go in and erase stuff.

Pros outweigh the cons. It's all the little things. For example, you are listening to your music on shuffle in the entire Stevie Wonder collection when, all of a sudden, a gentle ring comes on the screen with a funny picture of your crush. Playing cool, you don't want to pick up. He leaves a message -yes! But unfortunately, your grandma and landlord left two messages before that. Oh wait! No worries! You can select which voicemail you want without having to listen to your landlord's voice that sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

He's going to that bar he said was his favorite. Oh shit, which one I can't remember! Hold on, I have our text messages saved in one long conversation thread where he told me three weeks ago which one it was.... aw remember that time he sent me that message where he misspelled "deck" as "dick"?? hahha, too bad he doesn't have an iPhone that will read his mind and tell what word he wants.

So now I have the name of the bar but first I have to find a) where it is and b) where the heck I am. No fear! Google Maps is right there on the home screen.

Eh, that Stevie Wonder song ain't so great, I can just pinch this little button on my headphones that came with the phone and go to the next song.

THis should be pretty simple for you if you already have a Mac. The integration of iPhone with iTunes, iCal etc.. can't be beat. As a version 1.0 product (HW system aloing with latest upgrade) its pretty good. The Cal app could use some tweaking but is usable, I miss not having todos available on it so instead, those to-dos are now schedule as 5 minute events and to be honest this sort of makes sense. I do however wish the Note App was beefed up. But to consolidate a Palm T/X, iPod (though I wish it was 80 gig) and a cell phone into one device which has the Mac look and feel is pretty nice.

Kaamna, don't you have to stay on top of this stuff and therefore shouldn't you have one already... Or are you waiting for that first Android vaporware unit to materialize

Peace y'all

iPhone is the way to go unless you need access to your corporate email. If you are able to get your email on yahoo or gmail then iPhone has the coolest features, is very easy to use and Apple is continuously making updates and new features available which is in my opinion much easier to access and use then any other devices out there.

I got my iPhone the very first day it came out and I am not giving it up for anything. I LOVE IT!!!

Brownislove...you sell it well. I recently got a blackberry just because the salesman threw it against the wall in the AT&T store and said it was indestructible. I was sold ! My old phone took a ton of abuse.

When you say checking work email, I suspect what is meant is support for imap. Imap is supported on the iPhone. The real question is whether or not your company's mail server allows users outside of the corporate net to access it via imap. I'd ping your IT folks and see.

I do work email and calendaring on the iphone. its not as great as the blackberry ( that i used to own ) simply because it doesnt integrate with the phone's calendar at all.

I'd buy the iphone just for mobile web access and overall smoothy goodness . We pricelined ( holla desi ! ) a hotel in LA while we were crusing highway 1 :) .. now try doing that with a blackberry.

Honestly - I have both and prefer the Blackberry Curve - its practical and gets down to business.
The iPhone is difficult to type on because of the TouchScreen.
I'm not against the Touchscreen - my company enables that technology....however, not having tactile feedback makes many functions difficult unless you're actually staring at the screen.
