If you have some experience you can do well in most places. They key is to fiind your niche, if already haven't. A lot of brokers focus on relocation purchases some look only at bankruptcy buyouts, etc.. I am assuming you are indian, so you would look at ctiies with a strong indian population. You just can't wait for the phone to ring!

good advice, suri - thanks!

i am not actually a mortgage broker yet, but was thinking about going into the field. i have been a real estate agent part-time for a while and was looking to move into something else. Tapping into the Indian market is a good idea - but don't many of them already have homes?

most do have homes, which opens up the door for refinances. you want to consider this as a referal source, they will always know someone who is buying a home. i always got 2 loans a month from the indian community in st. louis. if you have 4 or 5 referal source which give you 2 loans a month you will be rolling.........

Good thought....with interest rates going down probably a lot of families will be refinancing. Where do you live currently Suri147?
