You know in U.S. am worried why people stress less on basic education and more on Sports and Sex Education right from the time their kid gets into like 3rd grade in school. They stress so much on that and so less on academics that fools like me can find a job here because apparently they dont have enough people to fill the gaps. (Also partially cause corporates were saving money by outsourcing blah blah....I know that but still there is second part that most americans try not to work too hard....I have observed that).......

 

What do I have a Bachelors in Science (Chemistry) ......

 

Anyways but in India I think there is a good amount of stress on education and academics.....but as our generations progress I think it is going to become lesser and lesser.

 

And I have only 1 thing to say to all you wannabe parents and people who are already parents....this coming from a person who is not parenting any soul......(so you can take it with a grain of salt.....nevertheless I want to say this to as many people as possible).....

 

Please continue to do that and keep stressing on the importance of a good education to all your kids. I think our parents had it easy since the barage of Cable television etc was not at its peak.

 

We are going to have it very tough. The "mall and shopping culture" has already taken all the Indian cities by storm and it is only going to get worse as the years progress.....

 

You think we are bad enough when it came to "values"and "traditions" and education and academics....I cannot imagine where the next generation and the one after that will be.

 

I have been thinking about all this and wanted to share this thought with you all today. Dont give up on stressing on education on your kids and while doing that if you can get him or her to play some sports "other than playing cricket in the backyard" and get him to do something worth while for the country so much the better.......

 

1 more thing before I part for today ........I beg people in India while being materialistic in good but don't get too much into taking loans for every thing from home to car to everything else. We all need to remember what my dad says about living within your means. You dont know how much life we have in store and if you are not sure about the security of the future be very careful with your loans.....or who ever you leave behind will be paying the price.....

 

The whole economic crisis in U.S due to the so called "sub-prime" mortgage crisis. This is due to people living out of their means. Of course they blame the banks for mis-leading them but ....come on .......every person is finally up to his own. You dont read the fine print you are screwed.
