Posted 4 months ago I'm going to Buenos Aires tomorrow on vacation....and I must say, I'm curious to see what the Indian community is like down there. I don't hear much about Indians in South America, does anyone know what the immigrant population is like? |

| Posted 4 months ago Countries like Guyana formerly known as British Guyana have about 50% of their population from India. Dutch Guyana, now known as Surinam has a very large Indian population as well. There are almost no new immigrants. Brazil would have some Indians but was not a country that had a very high immigration from India. You will find the Indian culture and accent very different from India. |

| Posted 4 months ago I met a guy living in Surinamese man living in Amsterdam once. He was of Indian heritage. He said that the Dutch had brought many Indians over as laborers over 100 years ago. Does anyone have more details about the history of Indians in Suriname? |
