A Mudra is a symbolic gesture used in much of the Hindu and Buddhist iconography present on the Indian subcontinent. Mudra positions are formed by manipulating the hands and the fingers; each mudra has a specific effect on the practitioner.
Mudra of Water: Varuna

Method:
Touch the tip of your little finger to the top of your thumb. Point three other fingers straight up.
Specialty: The varuna mudra increases knowledge. Pressing the two fingers together activates the pituitary and endocrine glands on the thumb.

Time Duration: No particular time duration. You can either hold the position steadily, or hold it for 30 seconds, and then take a 10-second break.

Mudra of Earth: Prithvi

Method: Touch the top of your thumb to the tip of your ring finger, and shape your other three fingers like a fork.

Mudra of Knowledge: Gyan

Method: Touch your thumb to the top of your index finger while stretching the other three fingers out upwards. Hold position.
Specialty: Balances water content in the hands.

- Stops deterioration of hand muscle
Mudra of Air: Vayu

Method: Fold the index finger under the base of the thumb Press down thumb while keeping the other three fingers straight.
Specialty: Eases illness related to air imbalance.
Time Durations: 45 minutes at a time, for two months.

- Can be useful for paralysis
Mudra of Emptiness: Shunya

Method: Bent middle finger onto your palm, and press it with your thumb.
Specialty: Reducess tiredness and dullness.
Benefits:
- Supposedly able to relieve earaches within 4-5 minutes of practice.
